BIO:
Based in Hong Kong, Dave is Research Manager with the Association for Sustainable & Responsible Investment in Asia (ASrIA), a membership association of financial institutions, corporates and other stakeholders transforming Asia through sustainable finance and investment. Before joining ASrIA, he was a Sustainable and Responsible Investment analyst focusing on water as a theme across Asia and in particular China at Responsible Research Pte Ltd. He’s held positions in Asian sustainable development, sustainable security, global human rights as well as alternative dispute resolution. Dave holds a MBA (Financial Services) from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a MS in Justice, Law & Society from American University in Washington, DC as well as a BS from Presbyterian College in South Carolina, USA.
Interests:
ESG valuation across asset classes to align more closely a firm’s market value and ‘intrinsic’ value;
ESG integration and decision-making of venture and early capitalists (as well as pre-IPO and private firms);
Organizational development of wealth managers to bolster consideration of extra-financial issues in the investment decision-making process; and
Not making sustainable and responsible investing “mainstream” but making the mainstream more responsible and sustainable.
