John Fullerton

Bio:

Previously John was CEO of Alerian Capital Management, an investment firm that invests in midstream energy infrastructure via MLPs, with a macro hedge overlay.  Under John’s leadership, Alerian grew to $250 million of assets under management with strong investment returns.  Prior to Alerian, John was a Managing Director of JPMorgan where he worked for over 18 years.  As Chief Investment officer of LabMorgan, John managed the firm’s financial technology venture capital activity before and after the merger with Chase, and was previously a private equity investor in Morgan Capital.  From 1986 through 1996, John helped build and manage various parts of the firm’s industry leading capital markets and derivatives businesses around the globe, with full P&L and risk management responsibility.  His assignments included Head of Global Commodities, Head of Equity Derivatives and Equity Trading, Head of Debt Capital Markets and Derivatives in the Americas, and Head of Swaps for Asia.

 

John has been a director of numerous companies (private and public), and NGOs.  He was a member of the Long Term Capital Oversight Committee that managed the $3.6 Billion rescue of the distressed hedge fund in 1998.  He is currently a director of New Day Farms, Inc., a Special Advisor to KLD Risk Analytics, an advisory board member of a commercial real estate focused family office, a Director of Investors’ Circle, and a participant/author of the UNEP Green Economy Report project.

 

John received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Michigan in 1982, with a concentration in economics and international relations, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Executive Management Program at the Stern School of New York University in 1986.  John and his wife Susan have lived in London and Tokyo and now reside in Rye, NY with their three children.
