Ken Stewart

BIO:

I am an actuary and investment banker and the founding president of Stewart Advisory Inc., a boutique corporate consultancy serving clients in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, enterprise risk management, shareholder value creation and strategic corporate issues.  I have over 35 years experience in financial services, including nearly a decade in asset liability management and investment strategy; over 20 years experience in strategic planning; over 15 years experience in mergers, acquisitions and foreign joint ventures, including business turnarounds and outsourcing, and resolution of related business and social issues.  I am a founding member and past chairman of the Investment Section of the Society of Actuaries.  I am a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

INTERESTS:

Because of my background in actuarial science and investment banking, I have a lifelong interest in the growth and stability of financial institutions, the broader financial markets of which they are a part, and their role in creating value for businesses, individuals and societies.  I am interested in, and have become a subject matter expert on, strategic corporate governance issues related to long-term value creation, including their links to enterprise risk management, corporate performance, compensation and related issues.  Over the years I have found that my background in financial services lends itself naturally to understanding and resolving issues and problems in a variety of other sectors.
