Alex is the Chief Investment Officer at the life assurer, Partnership Assurance.
Before Partnership, Alex completed an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures at Imperial College, London, set up various sustainable companies, worked on a number of consultancy projects and explored opportunities for sustainable fund management.
From 1996 to 2007, Alex was a senior Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments, London where he managed corporate, aggregate, gilt, international and European bond funds to the value of USD 5 billion using both cash and derivatives in unitised, segregated and liability driven vehicles. Three quarters of his funds were “buy” rated by the investment consultants with the others being on hold. All had strong long term performance records. Alex was also extensively involved in marketing and liaising with prospective clients, consultants and trustees and authored a short book on derivative instruments.
Prior to this, Alex worked as a quantitative analyst for NatWest Markets, Lehman Brothers and Manufacturers Hanover.
