I lead the investor workstream of the Access to Medicine Foundation. We publish the Access to Medicine Index, one of the three most credible sustainability ratings in the world. More than 50 investors, managing collectively $5 trillion, have signed the investor statement in support of the Access to Medicine Index.
Damiano leads the strategy of the Access to Medicine Foundation, including the Foundation's workstream with investors. He is an expert in the relationship between business, human rights and development, and a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Human Rights. Damiano is also the co-founder and co-director of Measuring Business & Human Rights, an innovative research project with official support from the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights. Damiano has a PhD in International Relations at the London School of Economics, and two Masters in Political Science and International Relations (from the University of Pisa and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies respectively). He published several papers on business and human rights issues, including the human rights responsibilities of financial institutions. During his career, Damiano has advised international organizations, companies, governments and NGOs, published several academic papers on human rights and development issues and delivered a TEDx talk on the corporate responsibility to respect human rights.
