Eri Yamaguchi is a special investment officer at New York State Common Retirement Fund’s Corporate Governance unit. She is responsible for various projects to further advance the corporate governance unit’s missions including engagements, proxy voting, and ESG integration/sustainable investing. Previousely, she worked as a lead research analyst at Domini Social Investments LLC on ESG research, proxy voting, and corporate engagements, focusing on the financial sector and Japanese corporations. Prior to Domini, she worked on various climate change related projects at United Nations Development Programme and an NGO in Kyoto, Vientiane, and New York. Prior to that, she worked on supply chain operation management for the Tech Hardware and Chemical industries in Japan. She was born and raised in Kobe, Japan. She earned a BA in Law from Kwansei Gakuin University, Hyogo, Japan and a Master of International Affairs with a focus on environment and economic development at Columbia University’s School of International Public Affairs. She also earned a certificate in Sustainable Investing from Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Compass with the Earth Institute at Columbia University.
