Mark Bershatsky is most passionate about natural resource efficiency and fighting climate change, especially on an international scale, and so his mission with Net Impact is to connect similar-minded people regarding those issues. Mark’s career in renewable energy started in 2007 as an investment banker on Wall Street, raising debt and equity capital for both renewable energy project developers and energy technology companies. Most recently, Mark served as a financial subject matter expert for Booz Allen Hamilton in advising the US Army on implementing its renewable energy program. He is currently seeking to transition into international development in order to practice his craft where it’s needed most. Mark holds an MBA in Strategy & Entrepreneurship from Southern Methodist University and a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Michigan. He is also currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. In his spare time, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington, DC chapter of Net Impact.
I have expertise in renewable energy finance, via seven years of investment banking and management consulting experience in the sector. I have done capital raises for both renewable energy projects and small-cap alternative energy technology companies and have advised the Department of Defense on implementing its renewable energy program. This experience covers transactions of all technologies, sizes, and geographic locations. I am particularly interested in how this translates into impact investing and climate finance.
