I am Grant Thornton's global expert on frameworks and concepts for reporting intangibles, value drivers, intellectual assets and key performance indicators. I am president of the Enhanced Business Reporting Consortium, a U.S.-based collaborative effort to provide the capital markets with more relevant and useful information. I am also one of the leaders of the WICI (www.worldici.com). WICI is an international network of organizations in Australia, Europe, Japan and the U.S. collaborating on expansion of enhanced business reporting concepts and development of XBRL taxonomies for non-financial information and key performance indicators. You can get a little more information about my work at Grant Thornton's business reporting resource center-- http://www.grantthornton.com/portal/site/gtcom/menuitem.91c078ed5c0ef4ca...
My primary interest is enhancing disclosure content through development of frameworks (taxonomies) addressing the full range of relevant information, such as management's discussion and analysis (management commentary); key performance indicators; and clear and effective sustainability reporting. Embedded in my principle interest are climate risk as a business issue (i.e., risks, opportunities and governance) and how investors are integrating climate risk into traditional investment analysis.
