I am a senior investment management professional with 15 years of experience in middle office controls-related functions. I was an executive director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London, heading the market risk oversight group for Europe and Asia. Prior to this, I worked for 8 years at Amundi Asset Management (formally Societe Generale Asset Management) in Paris and London where I was co-head of the performance analysis team.More recently, I joined Preventable Surprises as a director for the Climate Change program. This program is currently advocating institutional investors to being more proactive on climate issues and established the case for using AGM voting to ask companies to make public strategies for delivering shareholder value in a world where warming is kept to within 2 degrees. I have also participated in the 2014-2015 AODP rating campaign as a voluntary index analyst, with focus for large French, Swiss and Italian asset owners. As an investment risk manager, I strongly support a balance between short-term and long-term views. The reality is one of imbalance, where long-term views are far too often eclipsed by short-termism. The topic of climate change (and its risk management by investment firms) is a clear illustration of this imbalance.
