Peter de Graaf is a Senior partner with Carnstone Partners LLP, a management consultancy that provides advice on sustainability, the environment and risk management. He has a special interest in finance and the environment.
Peter began his career in public policy consulting in the early 1990s working in Brussels, The Hague and London. In 2000, he joined FTSE, the equity index provider, as Managing Director EMEA and Group Director of Public Affairs. Here he was responsible for managing the relationships with regulators and policy-makers in the UK, Continental Europe and the US. He became heavily involved in the promotion of FTSE4Good, the responsible investment index which has driven his ongoing interest in responsible investing. Peter has since served on the board of an environmental research firm and acted as senior advisor to ESG rating firms. More recently he advised the UNPRI on the development of their latest Reporting Framework and worked with a UK pension fund on integrating ESG into its manager selection and monitoring process.
Peter holds post-graduate degrees from the University of Amsterdam (MA) and the London School of Economics (MSc).
