Stirling Habbitts


Stirling Habbitts works in the Infrastructure and Power Project Finance team of a major international bank in London, where his focus is on arranging of project finance debt for renewable energy, conventional power and infrastructure projects. Stirling has experience in financing of onshore and offshore wind farms, solar power projects, geothermal projects, biomass, waste to energy, district heating, electricity transmission and distribution networks, health care and desalination plants within and outside of Europe. Stirling was previously Vice President in the Structured Finance division of ING Bank based in Amsterdam, and before that Stirling spent five years with KPMG in Sydney and Johannesburg. His transaction experience includes projects in Europe, USA, China, Russia, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, Southern Africa, Armenia and Indonesia. Stirling has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.


I have a strong interest in further exploring and contributing to the links between investment decisions, project finance and sustainable development. I am particularly interested in how sustainable development considerations can be better taken into account in long-term investment decisions such as finance of energy and infrastructure assets.
